The Villa Massa Residence is merged into a flourishing vegetation, only 50 metres / 164ft away from the sea, within a charming historical residence surrounded by a luxuriant garden full of citrus plantations, palms, cycads, camelias, fat plants and other plants of rare beauty. Villa Massa Residence is located in corso Marion Crawford, in honor of the famous American writer, who lived exactly few steps away until 1909.
From the Residence you can easily reach Sorrento downtown (1,5 km - 1/2 mile) in about 15 minute walk. The location is ideal one for those who want to spend a few days in total relax, without losing the chance of enjoying an excursion to discover the most breathtaking places that our peninsula offers: Capri, Ischia and Procida islands, the beauties of the Amalfi coast along with sites of historical interest like Pompei and Ercolano, the volcano Vesuvio and last but not least, the beautiful city of Naples.
An easy 10 minutes-walk allows you to reach the Circumvesuviana of Sant’Agnello, which is the local train that connects Sorrento to Naples station and to the other historical and cultural sites of interest (Castellammare di Stabia, Pompei e Ercolano). Naples airport and the wonderful Amalfi coast, all the way to the famous Positano, Amalfi e Ravello, can be reached by bus departing from Sorrento.
About 50 mt / 164ft away from the Residence, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of one of the loveliest spots that the peninsula offers: “Il Belvedere Marinella” to reach the beach Sophia Loren loved so much.
How to get to the Villa Massa Residence
By plane
The closest airport to reach Villa Massa Residence is the international airport of Naples Capodichino, 55km / 34 miles away. We suggest our guests to book one of our private transfer or to take the Curreri bus line to Sorrento departing from the airport square before the air terminal. You need to ask the driver to stop you at Sant’Agnello, Piazza Matteotti. From there you need to proceed towards piazza Santi Prisco and Agnello, where Corso Marion Crawford starts. A 10 minutes-walk will bring you to the Residence. Another option would be taking a taxi in front of the Circumvesuviana station.
By train
Arriving from any destination to Napoli Centrale or Napoli Piazza Garibaldi rail stations, you can take the local train “Circumvesuviana” going to Sorrento and exit at Sant’Agnello (it takes about an hour). From Sant’Agnello station we advise you to take a taxi, or to proceed walking and reach piazza Santi Prisco e Agnello where Corso Marion Crawford starts. A 10 minutes-walk will bring you to the Residence.
By car
Whether you are coming from the north or the south, you need to take the A3 Napoli - Salerno, follow the directions for the Peninsula and the exit of Castellammare di Stabia. Then you need to proceed on the State road SS 145. You need to cross the cities of Meta and Piano di Sorrento to reach Sant’Agnello. Before entering piazza Matteotti you need to turn on the right and proceed on Viale dei Pini (along service station side). At the end of this street, after crossing a church and the Belvedere Marinella, the road curves left on corso Marion Crawford and after 50 m / 164ft you will find the Residence on the left end side.
Seaborne
Fast ferries and hydrofoils are available and departing from Naples molo Beverello more than one daily route, to reach in 40 minutes Piazza Marinai d’Italia in the Porto of Sorrento. From there you can take one of our shuttles, a taxi or a bus. If you decide to take the bus you will need to stop at Sant’Agnello in piazza Santi Prisco e Agnello. Corso Marion Crawford starts from the square, and after 400mt / 1312ft (10 min. walking distance) you will reach the Residence.
